Sweet and Salty Chocolate Slice

An easy no bake Sweet and Salty Chocolate Slice loaded with pretzels. cookies, rice cereal and peanuts and topped with dark chocolate and chocolate malt balls.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams (1 and 1/3 cup) good quality dark chocolate
  • 60 grams (1/4 cup) unsalted butter
  • 240 ml (1 cup) sweetened condensed milk
  • 100 grams (1 cup) store-bought biscuits or cookies, crushed
  • 30 grams (3/4 cup) Rice Bubbles or Rice Krispies
  • 50 grams (1/2 cup) pretzels, crushed
  • 30 grams (1/4 cup) roasted salted peanuts, chopped
  • Pinch of salt

Chocolate topping

  • 200 grams (1 and 1/3 cup) good quality dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Roasted salted peanuts, to decorate
  • Pretzels, to decorate
  • Malt balls, to decorate

Instructions

  1. Line an 8-inch square pan with baking or parchment paper.
  2. Add chocolate and butter in a large mixing bowl and heat in the microwave, stirring every 20 seconds, until just melted. Stir together until smooth.
  3. Add condensed milk, crushed biscuits or cookies, rice cereal, pretzels, peanuts and salt. Stir until completely covered and then pour the mixture into your prepared pan. Smooth over the top. Pop in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  4. In a large heatproof bowl, melt chocolate in the microwave until smooth. Add oil and stir until smooth. Pour chocolate over the top of your slice. Add peanuts, pretzels and malt balls.
  5. Refrigerate for 2 hours or until set. Cut into squares to serve.
