First of all, I just have to say Oreos with 100’s and 1,000’s are my new favourite. Smelling of sweet strawberry milk, this little biscuit features colourful Funfetti pieces inside the vanilla cream. I recently heard about the phenomenon of Chocolate Covered Oreos from a friend at work and I knew I had to try. With only two ingredients, Oreos and chocolate, I was sure this recipe would a winner. Since I didn’t have a cookie mould, I just used cupcake cups that were slightly greased. They just peeled right off once the chocolate was set. I recommend using good quality chocolate for this recipe, as it is definitely a main feature. These cookies were surprisingly good and very moreish – you’ve been warned.
Chocolate Covered Oreos
Makes approximately 10 whole biscuits
10 Oreo biscuits
1 and 1/2 cups milk chocolate melts
Lightly grease your moulds, cupcake cups, muffin tin or likewise. Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 20 second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is fully melted. Pour a small amount of chocolate into your mould to cover the bottom, then gently place an Oreo biscuit on top. Cover the biscuit with chocolate and shake lightly to ensure the chocolate has completely covered the biscuit. Continue with remaining biscuits and chocolate. Place in the fridge for 3-4 hours or until completely set. Cut each one in half to serve and enjoy!
